So when did Washington — the state, not the District of Columbia — first legalize Christmas? Shortly after its 1889 entering into the union? (Merry Christmas, “Ripley’s” readers!)
Not true of Nevada. You can go on BLM (public lands) with a permit and cut a tree, but it’s not going to be quite what you see at a true Christmas tree farm.
Thanks to PETA, the animal crackers box no longer depicts them in cages…https://www.etsy.com/listing/87062425/animal-cracker-boxes-childrens-carnival?gpla=1&gao=1&utm_campaign=shopping_us_6elmdesigns_sfc_osa&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_custom1=0&utm_content=6205606&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIu-q26enQ5gIVBb7ACh3INwgdEAQYBCABEgL5ofD_BwE
What a memory!! Had to drag out the photo albums and sure enough, I found several pictures of the boxes on our trees. 6 of us and each got their own box.

Neither Arizona nor New Mexico were states then either. Both got their statehood accepted in 1912

This might lead to a question; What is a definition of a Christmas Tree?

How long before the holiday status is removed because it favors one religion?

So THAT’s why that string is on the animal cracker box! Clever.

I always thought the string on an animal crackers box was for easy carrying.
