Eons ago, “Jack and Jill” was a popular children’s magazine. One featured column was, “I Used to Think.” Can’t recall whether I ever submitted it but I used to think that if it was raining in Michigan, it was raining everywhere in the world. Michael seems to believe that the cold, snowy, gloomy January weather he’s experiencing is happening world wide. Guess geography isn’t being taught or he doesn’t watch TV news.

I’m batting 1000.00 on New Year’s resolutions. Eat more donuts was not a difficult challenge !

For some it’s the challenge to see how long they can keep it.

Resolutions are not about failing. It is about accepting new beginnings and the chance to grow as people. They are not because January is depressing but because it is inspiring hope for new and better things.

And they are not about the 99 resolutions that fail but the 1 you succeed on.

My question is: Why is everyone “Goosestepping” in this strip?

I never bothered to wait until January to make a resolution. If fact, I don’t make any. When I quit smoking, started exercising more, ate better and quit drinking, I just did them. All at different times of different years.
