My wife is in the program for ordination as a Deacon in the Episcopal Church.

About 1/3 of the Episcopal clergy seems to be women, by my eyeball survey.

I don’t see how the Catholic Church can allow SOME married priests – converted Anglicans and Lutherans – without opening the door to non-converts. Especially since there’s no doctrinal hindrance to married priests. And Peter was married.

The church is evolving, but as old as it is, it will take some time. This much is encouraging, when you consider how close together these changes have come.

The church, like our congress, no longer has any relevance to the times or the people it once served…
