In a joint study Stanford Business and Medical schools found that ties cutoff oxygen to the brain. I gave away all of my ties except one each of black, blue and green the day after I earned my MD. I kept one suit and two pair of wingtips. Scrubs, dockers, aloha shirts and white walking shoes for work. Jeans, aloha shirts and a few LL Bean ls flannels and Columbia ss shirts for after hours and weekends/days off. No more ties. No more suits. More comfort in more times and places.

You need to check today’s bread tie colors at the grocery store to make sure you aren’t thrown out for exceeding your expiration date.

And stay away from microwaves with those things!

I have never understood ties, or why we have them.

Now, if you’re eyeing that plastic clip that’s been replacing the twist ties… STEP AWAY!!

I’d probably twist it so much, I would invariably end up making the need for a tie a moot point.
