‘Fit’ didn’t originally mean healthy and energetic, in the sense it is often used nowadays to describe the inhabitants of gyms. When this phrase was coined ‘fit’ was used to mean ‘suitable, seemly’, in the way we now might say ‘fit for purpose’.

If Martha’s father had seen Michael kissing Martha the way John had, Michael would not be able to sit down for at least a week!

She reminds me of my brother when she had my brother. My poor mom got so big…..she delivered a 8.5 pound boy. My dad was so happy after 2 girls. It took my mom 2 years to lose all the weight.
