A snake bite kit would be great. You can get one at REI for under $10. Hint, don’t spring for the ones with the little shaving kit to clear hair away from the bite mark. If poison is in me, get it out, the infection can be treated with antibiotics later.
interesting story: a guy had received his grandfather’s old hunting boots after he passed away. Since they fit, he thought he’d wear them when he went hunting. He started feeling somewhat ill, and eventually ended up in the emergency room. Turns out his grandfather was bitten by a rattler many years before, and one of the fangs had broken off and was stuck in the leather upper. It scratched the grandson’s leg, and there was just enough venom still in the fang to make him ill all those years later!
