In central New Jersey we already had at least 3 deaths from falling through ice this year. Daytime temperatures have been too high to freeze solid.

My Dad lived in Alaska, up near Kodiak and he told me that he would check by shooting the ice with a .22LR. If he saw water it wasn’t think enough.
