Apparently, a great number of people out there do not comprehend that the posted speed limit is a maximum

They seem to think it means a minimum speed

I can clearly remember driving around as a teenager and yelling out the window “Hey, what are we in a parade or what?” when some slow driver was in front of me. There are still times today when I get that same urge, but it passes and attempt to obey the posted speed limits!

What’s the point of having one law that applies to everyone, eh, Barn?

I never liked bumper stickers in general, but I especially recommend shunning any political ones. You’ll get a lot more attention from opponents than from allies.

Where I grew up the bumper stickers read: “My kid can beat up your Honor Student”

A lot of folks are in a big hurry for me to catch up with them at the next red light, if they stop for it that is.

In Washington DC the driving culture was take the number on the sign and add 10. Through the prolific use of automated speed cameras, that culture changed quick.

every time i catch up to a speed demon at the next light i smile and remember what my driving instructor told me about how people who constantly overtake usually end up at their destination one or two minutes more quickly, at most, than people who just go with the flow, according to research…
