Today is:

National Peanut Butter Day

National Compliment Day. Ten Cats fans are wonderful people!

Beer Can Appreciation Day. That one seems weird to me, but as I said before, I just report ‘em, I don’t make ’em up.

International Day of Education.

From yesterday’s comments – about Lovebug’s ear troubles – a couple people suggested I might get a second opinion on treatment. Well, actually, I did that in a way when I had the culture done. That culture was sent to another lab and the result came back from that other lab that Baytril was the proper treatment for her. She is starting to respond now. She’s a bit better tonight than she was 24 hours ago. She’s still unsteady on her feet, but while I had to pretty much force-feed her last night, she sat up and ate on her own tonight. And her mood is a little better tonight. The improvement is only slight so far, but slow and steady wins the race. I expect to see her better yet tomorrow.

I bought some souvenirs on our cruise but – no t-shirts.

I decided years ago that all I’m going to get is a Fridge magnet. Inexpensive, easy to get home, always on display, rarely needs dusting. On occasion, I have gotten a T-shirt, but try not to.

Why does Mr Hollingsworth just want shrimp tails? What about the rest of the shrimp? Aren’t the tails mostly just scales?

@Tad1 . . Early this morning a flock, no….dozens….no, hundreds…maybe a thousand black birds flying north, stopped in neighbors back yard, on utility wires, my back driveway/yard and some pecked the ground feeding (I assume). No camera ready. Talk about a swarm! On another note: I saw bulbs rising from a neighbor’s flower bed. Uh oh. They will surely freeze unless pushed back down.

Here’s a bit of trivia: the idea for the mouse ear hats came from a gag in the Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Carnival Kid.” (This was also the first cartoon in which Mickey talked.) On another note, saw some seagulls and a crow on the way to work today. (No, they weren’t wearing mouse ears.)
