Pet fountains are kind of a pain to clean, but they really do seem to encourage them to drink more. Also to clean their feet – our female cat dips her paw in the water, then sucks the moisture out of her toes.

I’m siding with the Mittens on this one, Angie. You could have at least run the shower for a minute while brushing your teeth thus leaving Mittens water snacks.

My cat stands guard when I’m in the shower. That way he can get his water snacks while they’re still fresh.

. . . we keep two water dishes in our shower, since our cats like to play in the water. If, any water gets spilled, their excess “water snacks” goes right down the drain! No mess and our cats enjoy fresh water. :)

One of my two cats is a water pirate. She’ll happily drink water from every source she can reach except from her water fountain. And yes, she licks shower water. The other just drinks from one specific bowl and also refuses to drink from the water fountain.
