See, this? This right here is the biggest, most famous flaw of Monopoly (though not its only flaw). You usually spend 10-20 minutes at the end in a state where it’s very obvious which player is going to win, but the game isn’t actually over yet. And so, you spend that time seeing the other players slwoly lose the last of their money and making a dutiful, but sitll clearly pointless, attempt at a comeback.

It’s my opinion that board games are supposed to be fun. That’s why I have always hated Monopoly. Win, or lose, the game seems to bring out the worst of people’s nature.

I always thought that sitting on the couch watching TV did that!

Katsure – I believe that’s the whole point of the game, the evils of capitalism, once someone gets far enough ahead, it’s hopeless for everyone else.

Board games take too long to play. Card games are better because there usually is a limited number of cards.

what I remember is the board games came up for bad weather and when guest came over who also had children. The older kids would cheat and gang up on the younger ones to get them out of the game asap.

Well, now that they’re ‘dropped out’ from the game they plan to ‘turn on’ and ‘tune in’.

Treat the game like chess Betty. Its OK to concede when in an unwinnable position.
