One time when I was walking in Disneyland, the girl ten steps ahead of me took the wrapper off a candy bar and dropped it- despite there being trash cans within 20 feet in several directions. But, before I got to where she dropped it, a staff member had already crossed my path and swept it up.
People get all indignant that they are reminded about the little things — because there’s already so much wrong. But you know what? Paying attention to the little things DOES make a difference. It goes toward changing attitudes, and if nothing else, it prevents one more piece of garbage in the world. Imagine if everyone started to do the same.
