When I was a kid my dad got work small area of OK. The town we where in used those Green Stamps. My mom did use them. In KS we don’t get those green stamps after over 40 years I thought those stamps would be history. I don’t know one can redeem them products at? I hope all understand what I’m saying.
Gee I remember Green Stamps, as a kid, and when I got out on my own, I got a lot of neat, good things with them. Still have a lot of them, after all these years. I remember Plaid Stamps too.
I bet I beat you all. I got a refrigerator with Green Stamps. An insurance company my husband represented (back in the days of independent insurance agents who lived in the same town you did) had a promotions of GS for policies sold. It certainly was an incentive for him, and the frig lasted about 20 years.
So long ago that I don’t remember what I got with green stamps - whatever it was, I’m sure I don’t have it after my last move (from IL to AZ). Heck, I had so much stuff I got rid of even a great bunch of knitting needles-wish I had not!
* Speaking of old times, I remember when the movies were for a little lose change, and they oftim gave away free stuff too!
That has really been a long time. I remember Mom saving the green stamps and she’d give us boys a filled book for our birthdays. We thought it was so cool to be able to redeem that book of stamps for our choice of gifts.

My parents got a Phillips blender for a wedding present in 1968.
The thing lasted 35 years.

I remember the green stamps, but we used a damp cloth to adhere them to the book.

S&H Green Stamps…Wikipedia has it. And they’re still in business as S&H Green points! Who Knew?

I certainly remember those Green Stamps. Never really understood them as a kid except that we got stuff because of them.

Damp cloth. That’s a good idea. I seem to recall my mother used a different technique … ME!

@mathpup, that’s because you were young, and for a little while licking the stamps was FUN!

The last item we bought with our stamps was an ice cream maker. I think we still have it somewhere.
