Let’s not forget verbose and pedantic. When they reply with words, and are excessively concerned with minor details, you got ’em.
My reply would be to say “You are absolutely correct” and then punch them in the nose.
“Well, that’s an intriguing view. Do you have any evidence to back it up?”
I wouldn’t even take that as an insult, just a statement of assessment.
