That may get his ears dry, then what? Is he going to stick every other part of his body in there, and continue to read his “Dogs” magazine? (As opposed to “People”).
About that vintage seat and dryer combination: I’ve seen one at Value Village about half a year ago, and they wanted $250.00 for it… Then a few weeks later Salvation Army put one out for their monthly auction…I wanted to see for how much it would sell, so we went at the end of the month and someone bought it for $450.00!!!
I used to like going under one of those dryers. They were rather noisy and it meant you couldn’t talk to anyone or vice versa. The warmth was comforting. So with a decent book or magazine, you could zone out for the time it took to get dry. Add a cup of coffee and it was mildly perfect.

The golden retriever leaning on the human’s pants and letting the water leach upward is much more subtle and fun.

I think a part of the joke has to be that dog fur can stink horribly when it is drying out.
