This is the first Sunday-Strip where Violet has her new hairdo. She started wearing the new hairdo in the dailies weeks ago.

I haven’t gotten far enough yet, but just suppose that this Snoopy, whom belongs to no one, dies from al his candy intake, & the completely different looking Snoopy Chuck adopts from Daisy Hill Puppy Farm was named afer him.

Snoopy has always been Charlie Brown’s dog, he is based on Charlie Schulz’s own pet beagle growing up. It just wasn’t so well established in the earliest strips.

Linus is the one who makes hot cocoa out of crayons, if I remember correctly.

This is a remake of 1952/10/19 (even the same music), but this time with a happy ending!

Linus and Shermy will never be caught in the same comic strip

I’m surprised more people don’t nowadays see this as an early dialogue against racism. Snoopy here can be seen as any black performer who was “…good enough to entertain them but not good enough to eat in the same room as them.” Whereas “Pride is a foolish thing,” is quite true, as a final panel it perhaps served it’s purpose too well, that is, it deflected a response to the hidden message against racism that in its day, might have been quite vitriolic from some sources.
