My late husband often stop listening (if he even started). he’d just wait til he didn’t hear my voice, then start talking about whatever- even if I was answering something he started. I wasn’t sure the first time or two, then I stopped in the middle of the story. Then I stopped in the middle of a word- same response. It was usually in the car. So I just stopped talking to him when we drove anyplace unless it was necessary.
When visiting my sister-in-law and family, they often start speaking before I’m finished. Rude and rather humiliating. My wife denies this happens even though she’s guilty too.

It’s an awkward problem on conference calls when two people start talking at the same time — who is going to stop?

In case anyone is wondering, the ending to Norman’s joke is “…not pay at all.”

If you’re in a group with more than one woman, don’t open your mouth to begin with.

We know you have difficulty getting a thought, much less finishing a thought.

If a story is told and no one is around to hear it, does its end make a sound? :)
