I read âLove Storyâ when I was a sophomore in high school. I loved the book, and then my French teacher gave me a French-language translation. After I finished that, she would point out a dirty word in the text and ask me âDo you know what that means?â
Pretty simple of a title for a short story. (Personally, I wouldâve changed âErich Beagleâ to something like âAlfons Beagleâ⌠the first nameâs initial would throw people off if yâall know what I mean.)
I read Love Story in junior highâŚ.seemed pretty predictable as a story line even then to me. I actually enjoyed the movie more than the book, and thatâs unusual.

He nailed the author. That storyâs a dog.

So is this a rare case where the cheap knockoff is better than the original?

Snoopy is the most eloquent writer ever.

I like the way Snoopy, by using the device of a tennis match, cleverly gets the double meaning of the word love into his saga. Bon mot mon ami!

I remember seeing the movie, but that was a long time ago.

At least he didnât choose Jonathan Livingston Beagle as his pen name.

Dunno about authorship, but Panel Three reminds me of P. G. Wodehouse.

Think the actual author of âLove Storyâ was flattered by this?

A rich beagle?

Just imagining how the late, great Victor Borge would have recited this story with his Phonetic Punctuation.

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Then, we drank. The end.

I actually understood this one. This could outsell snoopyâs âit was a dark and stormy night series.â

I have to agree with Linus. There are a lot of good lines in this one. Probably the best writing Snoopy ever did.
