It’s lots of “holidays” today – and funny – the email that tells the holidays completely left out the first one on my list.

    Today is:

    Palm Sunday

    First Contact Day

    Gold Star Spouses Day

    National Go for Broke Day

    Geologists Day

    National Deep Dish Pizza Day

National Read a Road Map Day

    National Caramel Day

    National Nebraska Day

    National Flash Drive Day

National Raisin & Spice Bar Day

From yesterday’s comments to amethyst52 that my house looks cute – thanks. I wouldn’t call it cute because that’s the short end of the house and there’s quite a bit of house behind it. And if you could see the roof – well, that doesn’t look good right now. I’m still saving money (as I’ve been trying to for a few years now) to fix my roof. The flat roof you see in my pictures actually leaks and I’m determined to get that part fixed this year. I should finally have enough money to cover that and I hope to get the 2-story part fixed too (I might not have quite enough to cover that, but we’ll see. Behind the 2-story part of my house I have a couple more sections that are one story high. Those sections will have to wait another couple years before I can do roof replacement

What is a Kitty Hawk? Is it a kitty or a Hawk

In WW11 the government asked Curtis Aircraft to change the name of the P-40 fighter from Kitty Hawk to War Hawk because they didn’t think Kitty Hawk was a proper name for a warplane.

That definitely is one of Ches’s grand parents. White around the mouth is the clue. Of course the wide open mouth is a Puddifoot family trait!

I started making some masks to send to my sister and one of her friends. They’re coming out just like the one on the tutorial I watched. Because I have so much fabric left over from my quilting projects, I can make one is just about any color and the patterns are wide and varied. I figured I’d send 5 for each to get them through the week.

    Animom4 asked yesterday

Does anyone know what kind of kitten that is that looks like it is covered in sheeps clothing?

Research on Google yielded that the breed is called Selkirk Rex. This new breed are all descended from one rescue cat found in 1987 in a Montana animal shelter.

As a North Carolinian, I decided to look up the derivation of the name, “Kitty Hawk.” It’s complicated and there’s lots of disagreements. Most of the versions involve birds and Native Americans, and none involve cats so, sorry Chesney’s ancestor. I’ve put a link below if anyone is interested. In reality, the flight itself was in the town of Kill Devil Hill. They were based in the town of Kitty Hawk. Kill Devil Hill may or may not be named from a brand of rum.

The Wright Brothers first powered flight, including takeoff run, could have started and and ended Inside the cabin of a 747.

It’s Maximillion’s (Maxie) 13th birthday. To celebrate he had a lovely tub bath (gee, thanks, Mom). Later he hopes to Skype with Sweetheart if H x 3 is available. Oliver and Tyler cuddled with him for afternoon nap while Christopher gave him a stare which was a set back of sorts.

The Wright Brother’s historic flight was first recorded in a magazine about bee keeping, believe it or not. On another note, saw some robins while out walking today. I also saw a varied thrush, a junco, and two eagles outside.
