who would wear big, heavy-duty, almost non-dextrous leather gloves as fashion accessories?

They’re a necessity.

I’ve been reading this strip for years, It’s literally funny how spot on it is.

When you work with your hands you protect your hands ;-)

Work gloves are never a fashion accessory no matter what they are made of.

I wore brown jerseys with red lining for years. only wore leather when welding……

I used gloves whenever I was doing heavy work but gloves get in the way when doing delicate work. (Try threading a needle with work gloves on.)

Neither is the fancy belt.

My leather work gloves wore out about once a month.

I never could actually work in gloves. Unless handling something very hot,sharp or hazardous, when done off they came. I like to feel everything I work with,get more control,etc. ( Is this why My Wife and I have been married 30 years now ?? ) :-)

And neither is jeans.

These days, I only wear leather gloves to keep my hand warm. I do wear blue nitrile gloves when I go out or get the mail.
