“Murders in the Rue Morgue” is a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, not Conan Doyle. Toby the bloodhound who IS in the Holmes story needs a mention.

Puns are fun! And it’s amazing how he comes up with such diverse characters.

Le Chevalier C. Auguste Dupin is a fictional character created by Edgar Allan Poe. Dupin made his first appearance in Poe’s 1841 short story “The Murders in the Rue Morgue”. Although there is a murderous hominid, there are no canines involved.

How about comedian Red Fox Terrier or game show host Dog Barker or actress Shirley Bassett or Great Dane Cook…etc
