Happy Labor (Labour?) Day to everyone then too!

Well, I’m sure it’s a holiday somewhere for someone.

For me, the “holiday” is that today just happens to be my day off from work. :P

Is there a way to tell when this was first published?

This page wasn’t part of the original posting, where it would have landed in September in our world — not quite in synch with this posting, but close — and mid-July in Tackleford. It was added for the first GoComics run, where it landed on December 23rd. I wasn’t sure they were going to keep it for the second pass, but I guess it makes a nice divider between “Rock Bottom” and “Unwelcome Visitor” proper.

The original posting did have an out-of-continuity strip that appeared at the end of next week which isn’t in the GoComics run. It had Lottie and Shauna riding a pteranodon.

LOTTIE (grabbing the pteranodon’s crest): “So I figure this bit on a pteranodon developed as kind of a RUDDER, yeah?”

SHAUNA: “Lottie. Evolutionary theory isn’t like LEGO. You can’t smash up a house, grab some spare wheels… and build a tank.”

Well. The beginning of September is not an holiday but is important.

In the USA the end-of-summer holiday is on the first Monday in September, and in the UK it is on the last Monday in August. Am I remembering that right? Probably not, after all these years.

It’s almost Labor Day, after all.
