Good morning early readers! Huh, Nate did a good job. Not super shocking, but good to see nonetheless. Of course, we all know Nate can do good work only when he wants to.

So, off topic of the arc, but still related to Big Nate, does anyone else think that Mrs. Godfrey has gotten worse over the years? Originally, I could understand her anger at Nate, because he does stupid stuff. But now she gets onto him for little to no reason. Anyone remember “Nate, stop breathing.”? Because Gina was annoyed at his breathing pattern. He’ll try to be nice (even if it kills him) and she calls it sarcasm. And one time it wasn’t just Nate, she yelled at the whole class to get inside when they we’re planning to surprise her for her birthday. And the time when she gave a quiz when she told the whole class that there were no more quizzes and even Chad’s lethal power didn’t stop her. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me : /

Woah. An unexpected ending? That’s great! Makes the arc worthwhile. I know Nate could do well in his studies if he tried and stuff but usually does that when he’s threatened or has a motive. In here, he just seems to suddenly do it despite not caring at all in prior strips. .. Maybe this time it’s because he wanted to impress the girls? Either way, quite unexpected.

God bless the underachievers…someday we will rise up and fix the entire planet. Maybe. (We’re pacing ourselves.)

Mr. Peirce just wasted another arc AGAIN. Why can’t we get any long-term Big Nate story arcs anymore?

We’ve learned when Nate showed himself to be a chess genius that he’s actually quite bright. He could be a straight A student if he wanted. He’s just not very motivated and he’s a bit lazy. Maybe “super dad” ought to push him a little harder.

That kind of work isn’t where his comparative advantage lies. He’s more socially useful as a disruptor type.
