Yeah. In high school FW seemed funny. Maybe it was just the name? And no, they did not age well. I think Les is on a “list” or something that involves him having to introduce himself to his neighbors whenever he moves…
i actually followed Funky & Crankshaft for years – and would still do, but the local papers dropped them unannounced years ago & the website where i used to go read them drove me crazy with slow loading, shallow archives, & WAY too many adverts.

i’ve since replaced them with Endtown.

Haven’t seen Funky since the city’s other broadsheet closed up in 1980. Crankshaft has been in the locals for at least a decade.
