Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Walden is a strange school: sometimes itâs a diploma mill for slackers, and sometimes itâs Yale, where GBT went (or maybe in the comic universe, itâs always both).
I went to one of those colleges like GBT did, from a high school where most graduates went to one of âthoseâ schools. At our 5-year high-school reunion, there were 3 categories of people: those who had spent enough time âstudying abroadâ they hadnât graduated yet, those in grad school, and me. I was literally the only one there who had a full-time job, or a spouse. They looked at me like I had 2 (or 3) heads when I introduced her. The funny thing is, weâre still married, and most of them made up for lost time by having several spouses (one at a time).
But that explains why the college President threw in employment almost as an afterthought: thatâs the mindset.
Believe it or not, even back then, you actually had to know something useful to work at most places. Walden is not really a âusefulâ education sort of institution. However, you can still apply for manager pretty much anywhere. Congratulations, you have a degree.
Okay, Iâm confused. I thought they were chanting GAP because they were all planning to take Gap years after graduating, to travel and avoid work. Some here seem to believe they are chanting Gap as if âThe Gapâ is their employer of choice. Which is it?
I first thought it was gap year, but the gag setup from the 3rd frame, âEmployer of choiceâ along with "Kurt Colbain wore khakis makes me think Trudeau was going for the store.
The Gap? Oh thatâs right Walden is a liberal arts college. Supposedly a lot of LA colleges are in risk of closing due to lost value in endowments, drop in attendance, and bloat.

I see that J. Crew just declared bankruptcy. Hard times for brick-and-mortar stores have only gotten harder these last few months.
