I would rather just have the cold or flu for a week and get over it than get a shot that may or may not work but definitely will help create stronger bugs that are harder for your body to fight off.

Of course, that doesn’t stop me whining when I DO get the flu.

I’m with you Jaeldid…I’ve had the flu shot 2 times in the last 10 yrs…both times I ended up sick more those yrs then a combined since then. I don’t do the flu shot now, give me mother nature anyday!

Lynn: I did the Vapo Rub and the vaporizer and I used thermometers in both ends.

Glad my mother only ever did ear or mouth check. The “other end” doesn’t sound particularly fun. haha

Since the flu and the common cold are viral in nature, getting a shot of antibiotic or a prescription of pills is just doing a dandy job of helping all the other nasty germ and bacterial organisms build up their immunity to drugs (instead of letting the flu/cold bug build up ours).

Not John, that’s for sure. It’s at times like these when, no matter your age, you just want to wail “I want my Mommy!”.

I caught a cold early last November and 5 months later, I’ve still got a slight cough leftover from it! Luckily for me though, when I first got sick, my husband took really good care of me until the worst was over. I am truly fortunate!!!!!
