And he does look like he’s been dipping in the collection box!

There’s a couple in town who put up one of those Free Little Libraries in front of their house several years ago so people could take books they liked and leave books they didn’t want. They changed it temporarily now into a Free Little Food Pantry so people could take or leave food. They even added a cabinet because they had a lot of food donations. Some people even added donations of toilet paper, toothpaste and women’s hygiene products. I have taken a few things from there and I added a few things too.

To Perkycat from yesterday’s comments – You are indeed getting a great Mother’s Day “gift” if your high gets up to 75°! Here, they are predicting a high temperature in the upper 40’s and rain all day.

THANK YOU EVERYONE for the birthday wishes yesterday, I appreciated each and every one. I got some irrigation set up and 11 varieties of cantaloupe/melon seeds planted and took a full truckload of weeds to the dump. Keeping busy really helps us when we are stressed. Today’s strip reminds me that I am well stocked with cat food (thanks to a large Chewy delivery) and can spare a case for our food bank tomorrow.

Paul and I have used our local food bank often enough in the past to be extremely grateful for their service.

Going out today – my weekly outing. One stop will be a cash donation to the local food bank. That way, I don’t have to shop and the food bank people know what they need more than I know.

And speaking about going out, things are starting to open up a bit here. We were never on lockdown like so many other places but still, we were very limited. My hair place called yesterday and they’re re-opening on the 18th. YAY!

Once again, I like how this comic focuses on the positive. Panicking and acting like it’s the end of the world won’t get us through this, but keeping calm and helping out will. On another note, saw a rabbit and a junco while out walking today.
