We are getting to see far more deeply into the mind of Mildred here. In many ways this further guides us to see Mildred as the Magnet School variation of our beloved Nancy… even though I admit to getting “grumpy” at Mildred and not so much at “Nancy”.
The dichotomy AND similarity between Nancy and Mildred is really quite interesting to me from a psycho-social sense. In some ways, perhaps Mildred is the “goat-teed” variant of Nancy (reference to “Good Spock vs (goat-teed) Bad Spock”.
