@Linguist Today’s strip is slightly funny , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp will drink any kind of beer even if he finds it tastes vile just as long as it’s free :o) my avatar is a picture of an aerosol can that can spray bats that will eat any mozzies that are buzzing around at this time in Malta , wish it was real and I could buy one, both Connie and me get sucked dry of our blood if we venture outside or in our back garden :o{ come vi trovate in captivita inforzata , mio caro meno vechio amicho? our Manic Monday should be very busy and hectic but we should cope I hope , we seem to be missing a Starlet , a bientot mon ami
Just out of curiosity I checked with Ecosia and Hog’s Breath Beer does exist… Produced in Pittsburg so I can’t believe Jack would be serving it as a keg or draught… maybe bottled… I suppose… but he wouldn’t be offering it to Andy as a pint… maybe ½ pint…
There are beers and ales that taste evil. 90% of American popular brands of swill, for example. Have a Guinness or a Bass (not the American brewed versions). Perhaps a Pilsen Callao, or a nice Castle Milk Stout.
A long long time ago one of the Canadian brewers made a beer called Colt45. The Brewer rep brought in an 18 pack to the C&W bar I worked in called the Brule’. I prided myself in being able to drink anything. This was beyond swill. It was worse than warm ‘50’. Not to insult anyone but our bar was frequented by a goodly number of First nations folk and even they would not drink it. These guys make a home brew in winter you can use to clean your fishing boat hull with in the spring. I don’t think Andy would drink it.
when I was 20 I spent some time in Oshkosh Wisconsin and they had a 18 year old malt beverage law. One bar had a cooler with unusual beers and ales in it. Something called Scotch ale caught my eye; it was so foul I couldn’t drink it.

There is a chain of “Hog’s Breath Salons” in the US. Their slogan is “Hog’s Breath is better then no breath at all”.

Hog’s Breath? There’s a nice pub in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The pub used to be owned by Clint Eastwood.

Being the thoughtful patron that he is, he’ll make it his duty to drink that up to protect the other patrons from evil.

Basically today’s episode is the old vaudeville joke: “I hate that restaurant—their food is lousy! And they give you such small portions!”
