I thought I saw a cloud in the sky headed for Brown County the other day.

I thought only teenagers had this much angst. Agnes has WAY more than her share of angst at such a young age.

Days are fickle things.

Many adults maintain these superstitions.

It’s silly until it suddenly starts pouring down rain!

Who was that character with the dark cloud over his head? On “Li’l Abner”?

Sometimes I agree with Agnes. I look outside, say “it’s beautiful, I’ll go for a walk”, and then all of a sudden it clouds up and rains!

Do the Ol’ Switcheroo! Say “## it! Who needs it?”! Sunny all day!

Back in the day, when I rode a bike all around town,

I was able to make it sunny by wearing a yellow rain suit.

No matter how dismal the weather…. if I completely encased myself in silly-looking and uncomfortable, bright-yellow, plastic-coated nylon…

the sun would come out, and the day would turn bright and very warm.

Because I liked to perform this service, I wore it even on days that were only iffy-ish, understanding that my own comfort was a small sacrifice for the general good…

and also, knowing that if I didn’t wear it, the day would turn colder and wetter, leaving me and so many others unprotected.

Whenever someone would exclaim, “What a beautiful day it’s turning out to be!”, I’d say “you’re welcome.”

These days are so contrary.

Well everyone, have a…day.

Certainly happens in North Idaho. I haven’t figured out who the culprit is, though. Although I have seem some people riding their bikes in silly outfits.

In N. Idaho? Must be Seattle-San Fran. refugees!

Take the umbrella, no rain. Don’t take the umbrella……..I’ll bet you know the rest.

So it’s NOT “A beautiful Life?”

Such an astute observation from one so young.

Most folks living in Upstate NY have acquired this attitude, just to survive.
