I’ve got some ideas on what to do with that snow, but….

If it’s the TSA vs The Snow Goons, my money is on The Snow Goons!!! Wait, I need to check my bracket!

Yeah, let’s see if the snow can take the heat!!!

Shouldn’t that be Rendificate the snow… And is Danae trying to con HS into shoveling the snow.
lewisbower over 13 years ago
Hold it right there! The ACLU is representing the snow. Any forced melting is in violation of the Civil Rights Act, 1964.

Grammatically, it should be “render”, but “rendition” has become the word that gets the lefties all atwitter and sanctimonious.

I think all of the ratiocination is on your side of the computer screen, wizodd.
annamargaret1866 over 13 years ago
wizodd, snow isn’t a person? The Supreme Court needs to weigh in on that!
TexTech over 13 years ago
Once the Supreme Court decides snow is a person, watch out. That means every time you toss some chemical snow melting agent on your sidewalk, you are guilty of mass murder.
Wait, if corporations are a person, then does that not make stock holders slave owners since they own the corporation or person?

You mean cut the medicare and Social Security I’ve been paying onto for over 40 years just as I’m about to get my money back on the deal? Look, I can’ t help it if the conservatives want to import labor and ship out our jobs for fun and profit and I can’t help it if both partied have systematically raided what would have been a huge pool of money to pay for all these for their own little wars ( Two of which we aren’t out of yet) and other pork. So please place the blame on the system being overburdened on the ones who’ve over burdened it, not on the public who PAID for it from their own checks and were told they would get a positive return on the deal.
Our MI Repubs have just cut unemployment to 20 weeks. Which is the same as the idiot logic for cutting SS, WE paid for the unemployment while working, they mismanage, so they cry we’re evil kids and take it away. (I’m working again, but I’m very grateful that our Dem gov kept the system going long enough for me to get another job. God blessed me with that kindness and I would like to see the favor return to those in genuine need.) This is insane logic of the the MBA and their greedy buds, Jack.
By the way, defense makes up 1/4 of our economy when you throw all of it into the mix. NASA MADE a return of $8 on $1 invested BEFORE the DD took over it and ran it into the ground. Please don’t cry about them losing their pet project here and there, cry about the cuts to our real land forces and their compensation. We’re retiring some nukes and people are crying, but Obama is merely using the Reagan retirement scam. Our missiles are good for only a tops of 30 years since the radiation corrupts the mechanisms due to the nickle in the steel retaining it and building up over the years. After that, they are dead weight anyway. Reagan and his Russian buddy at the time looked good by dumping weapons they would have had to dump anyway and O is doing the same thing. The “cut” then and now was in simply not replacing them…right away.

Only if they’re looking for illegal “terrorists” who speak Hispanic and take our jobs, Grainbelt. As I suspect you mean by your “name.”

Look, people just aren’t paid enough for an honest days work any more. That is the only reason people are complaining about spending and taxes. Taxes are at an all time low, historically, for the last hundred years. Hourly wage earners are paid less now than the were in 1960, when you figure in inflation. Non hourly workers have increased their earnings ten fold. Something is rotten in Denmark, and there is no defense for what is happening and no defense for the international corporations keeping wages low and the bleeep coming out of the mouths of conservatives.
..I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but it’s impossible not to notice that humans are treated as a natural resource to be exploited, like a piece of coal. Like all natural resources it’s best if it’s cheap. It’s really the only resource businesses have control of. There is always somebody willing to do any kind of job. Why pay anyone a living wage if you don’t have to?
Business is not in the business of giving people jobs. The last thing they want to do is pay another employee. If business is so good they actually have to hire another employee, because the workers they have now are burned out trying to do the job of two people, they will very reluctantly..
And it’s crazy to think that 100% of people can start their own business.. Taxes aren’t too high, wages are way too low…

Very interesting bunch of comments. I prefer to stay out of politics, but as noone wants to pay me even 1/2 my former wage now that I’m over 70, I really NEED SSA -and I earned a good amount with my past engineering jobs. The rest of my earnings are from taking the RMDs from the various 401K savings that I accrued.

When Uncle sends you your yearly Social Security information a couple of months before your birthday, take a good look at how much you AND your employer(s) have contributed to your fund, then divide the amount that SS estimates you will receive per month. The figure you come up with is how many months of income you (and your employer(s) have contributed to your “retirement.’
I will start drawing mine next year on the “early” retirement program at age 62. By the time I reach 66 (full retirement age for me) I will have collected every penny, and then some that is in my account. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. American Taxpayer if I live past 66! Because then, it is coming out of your pockets.
Or as Yakov used to say, “What a Country!”

Yug, you know why they do that it? Americans respect their elders…..Now you may think there is something wrong with that…. remember, the real reason there are riots in North Africa is they don’t have enough money to live on…..kinda like here…..

Since ‘rendition’ normally refers to the sending of purported terrorists to other countries (with fewer limits on interrogation techniques), the idea of ‘renditioning’ to a naval base which is still U.S. territory is technically inaccurate. In any case, why not ‘rendition the snow to, say, Saudi Arabia, where it would be received more appreciatively.
