I feel pretty! Oh so pretty! I feel pretty and witty an gay.... Dean: Didn't you see your picture in the school yearbook? Heart: Just trying to give the positive spin.
The Bieber story is during the week. Sundays are separate, and usually standalone. As for gay/bright, I consider the original to be the proper version, and bright a cop out.

bright, bright! (or doesn’t Heart know the lyrics?) ;)

gay was used in some recordings - bright in others (I think gay was used first and then changed later)

I never heard the ‘bright’ version
In 1961, when West Side Story” debuted as a movie, the line from Natalie Wood’s musical number (dubbed in) was ..”I feel witty and pretty and GAY”
but I suppose it was changed to bright to avoid the expected snickerings, winkings and rib pokings

Go, Heart! This is what I should do with drivers’ license photos.
(Btw, I’d only heard it as “gay” as well. Yay for original lyrics!)
