When I was in training for basic training of the military, back in the day when muskets were the primary weapon, I practiced my running on the loose sand on the beach. When I had to do it on a hard surface, it felt like I wasn’t running at all. I was 19 years old at the time.
Our standard back then was to run a mile in 8 minutes. The last day of boot camp, I ran it in 6:20 and I ran it flat-out. I was hurting: tears in my eyes, lungs burning, leg muscles aching. This after running twice a day every day for a month. People run marathons at paces faster than that. That was the fastest my body has ever moved under its own power.

Come on, Peter… They’re called “suicide drills” for a reason.

Peter should do it while pushing a lawn mower.
