“Social science” is an oxymoron, a made-up term worthy of an ad-wonk. This started in the late 1950s, early ‘60s, when everything had to be “science” to get funding. The proper term would be psychology, which has barely reached the stage of development necessary to be called a science. But that isn’t for lack of effort.

A lot of religions through history are founded on the tenant of kindness to others. That might be where the social scientists learned it.
