If corporations had banked most of the cash paid in insane “compensation” to executives over the last thirty years or so instead of creating an American oligarchy, they could have ridden this thing out with no problem.
Cute concept. Sad truth is, though, that airlines are bad for pretty much everybody, so it’s only fair that their stockholders are losing something too.

I’d like to feel bad about the airlines, but they’ve really had it coming for a very long time.
I do feel bad for pilots, who have long been quite underpaid anyway. I feel bad for them and other airline employees who will now need jobs.

Simply more corporations “too big to fail”! After this is all behind us, maybe the way to go would be more, but smaller airlines?
