    I just saw an episode of QI where the talked about the guy that introduced starlings to the US. He wanted the US to have every breed of bird that was mentioned in Shakespeare’s works.

    The starlings and grackles empty my bird feeders in a matter of just a couple of days. I wish I could get rid of just them without losing the smaller birds that show up.

    I enjoy all the birds (though I don’t know which ones are trouble for crops). Starlings are especially interesting for me to watch, as in the bright sunlight they are very iridescent and their movements make them look like they’re made of liquid.
