Even worse, the marketing gimmick failed to work for Edison. He was trying to market DC current, and electrocuted animals with AC to try and convince people it was unsafe. The problem with DC current is that when it short-circuits, it tends to overheat. A lot. As in, “Wasn’t there a building over there?” So George Westinghouse and his AC current eventually won.
Where can I get some engineers to do some good creating so that I can be a jerk and get credit/rich? If I tried, I could probably be as big of a jerk as Gates or Jobs. Well, maybe?
^Of course, Ferdinand Porsche actually created it, but yeah…
Myself, I use Windows as little as possible (have to at work) because it stinks. Sad, really, that they took so many years to duplicate Apple’s OS even moderately competently.
Dr. Porsche named his invention the Volkswagen. Hitler renamed it the Strength-Through-Joy-Wagon (KDFwagen), but as soon as Hitler was defeated everyone went back to calling it the Volkswagen again. There is probably little point in explaining that to your friend, though – he won’t listen.
While Tesla probably contributed far more to the electrical industry than any other two people put together, he did not invent it. Westinghouse did not invent it, either. But it was his company, with Tesla working for him, that made AC the standard in the U.S. Westinghouse opened the first AC transformer system in 1886. Tesla’s company opened in 1887. They started working together in 1888. The ISBN number of the book I’m referencing is 0-88029-419, page 38.

I’m glad I have no prejudices. Confrontation looks very annoying.

My prejudices are the only things that protect me from reality.

Prejudice is great! It’s quick and easy and comes in small, bite-sized portions.

I’m not prejudiced. I hate everyone equally.
