I ate one as a 12 year old. I was bicycling down the road, minding my own business and yawned. Dang lightening bug flew down my throat so far I had to swallow it.
It tasted just like your hands smell after catching a few for your jar.
Shame of you, Kenny. Lightning bug populations are falling. People mow their lawns like they are golf greens so there’s nowhere for the bugs to live, poison their food, let their kids murder the ones they do see, and then whine because fireflys aren’t around much anymore.
We used to have a couple of miniature schnauzers that would catch fireflies and hold them in their mouths. Not sure if they ate them or eventually released them, but their muzzles sure looked funny when the bugs would flash.

I was just commenting to my wife last night how many lightning bugs were in the yard. I have a small orchard and they were everywhere.
