That sounds like “meds” are being used as away of keeping unruly residents under control. Elderpark is not a nursing home and it’s rather disturbing to me that the staff would control the medications. I’m in my 80’s myself and don’t like to think this could be in my future.

When I was working in nursing homes we had to watch because many of the patients could ’pouch" their meds in their cheek and spit them out later.
