I remember watching “Emergency” when I was but a lad, and when the ambulance would call in to Rampart General Hospital, the doctor on duty would always tell them: “Start an IV with Ringer’s Lactate and D5W”. Every single time, no matter what the patient had gone through. They did it so much I still remember that phrase 50+ years later.
