I can read the Cyrillic alphabet, but I don’t know any of the languages that use it.

When I saw the move 2010 (way back in ‘84), I apparently was the only one in the theater who could read Cyrillic, ‘cause I was the only one who laughed when the Russian space pod had the name “ГРАМПА” written on it.

Runar, I read it as “Grampee.” I puzzled over that, then later on asked my Russian teacher about it. She laughed and said “Grumpy!” Which makes me wonder if the Leonov carried six more of those pods.

Although maybe “Grampy” was paired with a “Betty Boop” pod.

Teresa- Is the photo of the sailing ship and full moon in the public domain? I’d like to use it for the cover of my next book.

Why would a profession with a lexicon that includes halux valgus, witzelsucht, and trichotillomania need to appropriate words from the criminal justice system to describe a medical condition? What has the poor colon ever done to doctors except serve as a profit center for them?”
