This! The most important reason to wear a mask is as a courtesy to others. Everyone produces tiny droplets of spittle when they speak. This helps them not spread. This decreasing possibility of transmission. Not complicated. We wear it to protect our fellow man.
There are so many who don’t understand this basic concept, it’s frightening. And guess what…these same people support a certain orange creature in a big white house. Imagine that!
My favorite explanation as to why you should wear a mask The Urine Test:If we all run around naked and someone pees on you, you get we right awayIf you are wearing pants, some of the pee gets through, but not as much. So you are better protectedIf the guy peeing is also wearing pants, the pee stays with him, and you do not get wet at all.
My addition to this: For the covid virus, it is even worse, then the guy peeing, because it takes so long for symptoms to appear, which basically makes it equivalent to if you and the guy can’t notice the urine until much later.
What amazes me is that I see this information more in comics than on local news shows, cable newspapers shows and newspapers. I’m disappointed in how little publicity this got from official sources.
Research is important. Unless you are using actual surgical masks or n95s you are doing nothing to prevent transmission. Think. In China almost 100% of the citizens wear masks, But the outbreak there was horrendous. This is due to their wearing the masks due to air quality, not disease. All you are doing is virtue signalling.
