The many, many bad educational memories from my university days kept me from ever considering an advanced degree and led me to conclude that for the vast majority of students a liberal arts degree is a waste of time and money.
My former employer used to have a form called “Eligibility for Promition”. It was about two inches long, with only enough room for employee identification and the following: “College degreee: Yes / No”. That was it. Not where you got your degree, or in what, or how well you did. Just Yes or No.
I did go back to school for my Masters. And then I got another which was the only way to get the job that I have.
But in general, those with a Bachelors Degree earn substantially more than those without. And those with a graduate degree earn more still. One study showed that the difference over a lifetime on average is about a million dollars.
…and your eyes gouged out with a spork as well, Lila?
C’mon, it’s not really that bad. Try doing it with an infant in the house like I did. Annie’s not that young and just think of the study sessions she could help you out with.
