My brother lost a frog in the basement once.
You’ve got a fully functional ecosystem in there – no need for additional feeding.
…or fly them, or swim them…
Note to self: Never check Wallace’s knapsack indoors. Only upend away from the house. How did he fit that many animals in one small bag?
Look at the turtle’s expression on the last panel… not very happy to be there!
I’m surprised nobody ate anyone.
We caught a squirrel in a stick-and-box trap once; then didn’t know what to do with it; it was quite upset..actually, enraged!
A nice big knapsack full of trail mix.
I noticed a pair of shoes in the first panel. Did Mom buy a new pair, or did she succeed in getting back the one’s thrown in the ocean?
Wallace literally made Mom bug-eyed.
That backpack is an endless hole of disaster. So many animals coming out, the stream never ending.
BUNNY!
Wow, All I can say is wow
No gull. Is the gull ever indoors?
The one I’d worry about is the squirrel.
I’ve always wanted a pole cat. I found a pole dancer once. But, no pole cat.

Ahhh- it’s the Wonderful of Wallace!!
“Is this reality?” No it’s a cartoon.
Ms. McClellan is my kind of woman … totally unflappable.
Did the gull take a vacation day?
I’d use the vacuum cleaner on them and then sprinkle diatomaceous Earth around. In a word? GAH!
Mom is soooo tired.
i’m surprised they all got along in such close quarters.
Thanks for today’s strip—it was truly my mother’s experience with me and all the critters I brought into her house (mice were verboten, though she was cool with everything else). I’ve made it my cover photo.
In fact, your strip from last 11 April last year so reminded me of my mother’s understanding and encouragement that: (a) I saved it, (b) I’ve remembered it fondly, and © I have come to regard yours as my favorite strip—and I read a ton of daily strips!
BTW, I still identify with Wallace, even at age 75—a lifelong entomologist, surrounded by vials and jars of spiders, even as I write this!
Thanks again!
I think Wallace is my Favorite Toon of all
