Man: Hi, guys! I guess you two are on my soccer team! We're going to have a great season! Ha ha, we might even win a game! Ha ha ha! Petey: Who was that? Andre: Don't ask me. Dill: That's my Daddy! He coaches soccer!
WaitingMan, those are the risks one takes if he’s good enough to turn pro. Hopefully some of the rule changes they’ve made will minimizee some of those risks. Unfortunately, they’re not teaching proper fundamentals at the college level and they’re bringing those rather special skills that they are being taught to the NFL level. It’s up to the NFL coaching staff, unfortunately, to teach them the proper fundamentals of tackling and get them to un-learn what they have learned at the college level. Make no mistake, even played properly, there are mininmal risks of life threatening blows. But those are more freakish than a premeditated attempt to “blow up” their opponent.
Even with all its faults, it’s still by far & away my favorite game.
On the other hand, soccer never could pull itself up from the depths of complete and total boredom. It’s right down there at the bottom of most boring sports along with basketball & golf.
Always good to see extended family members in a cartoon one reads daily, Richard-thanks!
Trebuchets? Design Toscano has some cute functioning minis (I’ve told some of my friends who have full size ones in SCA).
As to hair- my 3 boys all got their dad’s baldness. but one has used product to avoid it- my daughter (even though she has her dad’s latin coloring) has my thinner anglo hair.

Me too, Grog. When they go down grabbing a knee, there’s really something wrong.

I guess it’s true that one inherits the hair gene from the mother’s side of the family.

@Grog: American football. The perfect sport for children. Long term brain damage? No biggie.

Who does he resemble most, Crosby, Stills, or Nash? I can never remember which one is which.

Grog n Plod (oh that is fun to say) I’ll give you that some pro soccer players can act. I still love to play the game. I also love to watch football.

So how did Dill end up with so little hair when his dad’s got a ponytail? This should be fun!

Here is a better selection of trebuchets and catapults - cheaper, too.
BTW, Vikings did not wear horned helmets.

You mean Petey doesn’t remember Dill’s dad and his sister does? Oh I forgot, Petey doesn’t go out about the neighborhood much, just to school.
