GE’s tax return is 3,000 pages long, peeeeepullll!!!!!!!!!! They can actually write off everything legally,.

Gee, since that Supreme Court ruling also applied to labor unions, this logic would say——–

Why do people only see one side of a ruling? Labor and corporations were both allowed to make political contribution. Want to trash both their First Amendment rights?

Bush tax cuts helped the rich. Oh, yeah? Are you paying 25% or 28% today? Want to return to 28%?

Oh I wish I were a giant corporation then I wouldn’t have to pay any taxes too!

Lewreader, don’t be disingenuous. You know that those tax reductions helped the rich disproportionately. GE paid more than 900 lawyers over $100 million to work out the loopholes. Why? Because their tax burden should have been over $1 billion.

I would be content if we left the tax rate as it now is - assuming we eliminated every single tax loophole and only allowed charitable deductions for individuals earning less than $1 million.

So someone in Congress decides it would be for the public good to “encourage” corporations to increase their XYZ, so they get to write off XYZ from their taxes. Is it a surprise then that corporations would be doing their best to take the tax advantage?

Then Congress decides that not only is XYZ a great idea, but so is ABC, QRS, MNO, GHI, and so forth. So is it such a surprise that some corporations get so adept at taking advantage of these “encouragements” that their taxes shrink away?

But then what happens? The corporations get blamed for not paying their fair share of taxes! Now that’s unfair.

(Note: This applies to honest companies, not the corporate parasites that kiss up to Congress to get more and more of these special bennies. Once GE was an admirable company, but under current management it has become a leech on the taxpayer as bad as Government Motors.)
