    HIPPO-CRITICAL?

While there are many good, liberal Christians, radicals like Jesus — who spoke truth to power against the established religious orthodoxy and those in political power of his day — too many conservative, evangelicals embrace the very epitome of being HIPPO-CRITICAL.

Where Jesus taught love of neighbor, enemies and welcoming the strangers, conservative evangelicals preach hatred, division, supremacy and locking strangers’ babies in cages.

Every aspect of modern conservative evangelical “Christianity” is the polar opposite of what Jesus reportedly taught.

Help the poor? Feed the hungry?

Heal the sick? Welcome the foreigner?

Drive out the money changers? Today’s conservative “Christians” ARE the money changers.

The conservative wing of “Christianity” does not follow Jesus, they follow the renegade “apostle” Paul, who completely contradicted Jesus on every key point of doctrine, theology, law, morality and ethics.

Conservative “Christians” follow Paul, who opposed almost everything Jesus ever taught.

Liberal Christians try to follow Jesus.

For specific examples, including chapter-and-verse references to how Paul contradicts Jesus:

So they should get non-Christians to criticize the hippos for getting in the way of the river boats?

Whyizzit that these conservative, evangelical fundamentalist Christians, unlike any other belief system, have to be sooooooo aggressive (and more than a bit manipulative and ignoring of good social boundaries) and often pushy? I call it “shoving your belief down my throat”, or “laying your trip on me”. Truthfully, I don’t run into that much anymore, thank Goddess.
