@Number Three Today’s strip is mildly funny and a variation of a theme , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp , being sober is being devious in his statement to the Copper:o) my avatar is a picture of a guy over re-acting to the presence of a fly by trying to shoot it down with a shotgun , I would never do that , Connie won’t let me :o{ , how was your day? our Finally Friday should be busy but calm I hope and this evening I’ll be having my fav nosh , stay safe and BCNU pal
I once got a black eye at school. My teacher was sympathetic and gave me some cotton wool soaked in cold water to bathe my eye with. My mother was angry when I came home with a black eye and told me “Don’t you ever come home with a black eye again!” It certainly wasn’t something I was planning to do! Mum was usually much more sympathetic when I was injured or ill but she must have feared that my black eye gave our family a bad image.
As I mentioned yesterday, today is my brother’s 68th birthday and would have been our Dad’s 92nd birthday but our Dad died from pneumonia in March. Our Mum used to say that Robert had been born in the year Queen Elizabeth became our Queen and I was born in the year when England won the World Cup. We have a sister who was born between us. As Robert shares his birthday with Harry Potter, our sister shares her birthday (October 29) with another fictional character Jack Reacher.
One of my favorite classics is Andy at the market asking for fresh fish. All they had was the pre-packaged kind. Andy walks off in a huff: “I’d look a RIGHT twit telling Florrie I’d caught that at the lake!”
A bit off-topic, but my local PBS station finally started re-running old “Fawlty Towers” episodes recently. (For YEARS all they had were old episodes of “Keeping Up Appearances” and “As Time Goes By.” Luckily there are DVD’s and this newfangled “internet” thing…….) Our monthly magazine schedule listed it as “Family Towers”—one of the all-time great mistakes! I mean, could a hotel ever be LESS family friendly than Fawlty Towers?

you still cannot escape the law’s long arm, Andy (if not by that constable with whom you were chatting, then another will)

There you go, Andy. Fishing for trouble again!

Here fishing is discouraged by signs that warn that anything caught will be polluted and dangerous to ones health.

“Sir”? Who’s this rookie? Why hasn’t he been briefed, shown the photos of their “Customer of the Epoch”?

Well, I finally went to the beach and it was amazingly beautiful.
Actually waiting for the bus to go home now. That sea air has fully recharged me.
It’s 7:10pm here but it’s still light.
Hope you enjoy your favourite nosh, pal.
