For the rinsing: If she insists, just run the “rinse”-cycle of your dishwasher after loading it.

Like the little kid says, What does the dish washer do?

Depends on the efficacy off the dishwasher!

Mine can handle any plate regardless of the crustiness of the food debris that was on it!!

With the new machines, you are NOT supposed to rinse the dishes. Just remove any food. The machines have sensors for how dirty the dishes are and also, the new dishwashing pods allow the dishes to come out sparkling clean. I’m totally amazed how well this works.
