Ziggy, lone crusader against reverse mortgages. At least a dozen cartoons. The backstory must be awesome. Thought you had them for a while, but they are coming back.

A reverse mortgage is a personal loan that erases as much of your equity as the Robber~Baron class can get their grubby hand on

The only time a reverse mortgage can work for someone is if they are terminally ill or near end of life. In that case, it can be a financial support to keep someone in their home longer.

Any other time, you are paying someone else interest to buy your house, and that’s just stupid.

It’s a trick to take your house. Or if you prefer: “It’s a trap!” What I really hate are those JG Wentworth commercials. If you can’t figure out that’s a ripoff, you probably shouldn’t have gotten any settlement money to begin with.

This explains why Ziggy has no pants: he spent all his money on paper, pens, & postage!
